Katy Perry broke down Twitter for Sunday Night Football analyst (and new user) Cris Collinsworth during his Tonight Show with Jay Leno chat. Her qualifications, in her words: “I guess I’m the second biggest Twitter person.”
While Collinsworth sounded hopelessly naive — “Do they always say nice things to you?” — Perry offered a reality check. “Oh no. Oh no. Anonymous comments on the internet are typically not nice,” she said. In a gruff voice, she even offered a few examples: “Die. You’re ugly. You’re so fat. Your wife is so much prettier than you.’”
Up until recently, the Teenage Dream star was actually the third biggest Twitter person. However, the same day she visited The Tonight Show, she had overtaken Lady Gaga as Twitter’s most followed woman. While both of them are busy prepping new albums, Perry maintained a steady stream of updates as Mother Monster fell (mostly) silent, as if to build anticipation for ARTPOP.
